My “kosher” kid!

Yesterday morning we took my parents and went to a pancake breakfast that was a fundraiser for the students that I teach. It was a wonderful experience. The kids really worked and I believe they learned a lot and it was a great team building experience.

Of course NHL loved all of the attention the girls gave him. He thought it was great, especially the bacon that JL and I allowed him to have. He’s so used to the soy stuff we weren’t too sure what he would think. Oh well, he wasn’t following a kosher diet anyway at nursery school, so he’ll live! Here’s a photo of NHL showing off his bacon:

After that we went back to the rents house where my little brother, Uncle I was waiting for us. A traumatic event followed where poor NHL had to wash his hand that had a boo-boo bandaid on it and it fell off. I head him from the other room and knew it was related to the bandaid. Well he was in full hysterics. JL and NHL came into the room where we were all sitting and Whiskers (cockatoo) screamed and made Noah go off the deep-end. So NHL actually asked to rest on the floor with daddy since he was tired. Here’s a photo of the sleeping boys:

On that note I am off to get ready. Uncle I and Aunt M are coming over soon and we need to all get dressed and clean up a little around here.

NHL’s Full Moon

Only moments before JL and I were getting NHL ready for bed, he was falling asleep on the floor while JL was talking to Aunt J (JL’s sister who just got home with her 2nd little boy). Suddenly as JL was taking his pants off to get his PJs on the little weirdo took off. There was a full moon in our living room!

NHL was crazy and suddenly awake. The first thing he did was grab his Monsters Inc hat and started to run around. JL followed him into his bedroom where he continued to run around and laugh hysterically. All of this while protectively covering the “family jewels” with one hand.

Here is NHL after he ran into his room. Note where the hand is – JL was in tears laughing at how protective he was:

Cornered on his bed to finish getting into PJs:

Clearly NHL had other plans:

You have to love this age for all of the laughs and adventures!

Uncle I, Aunt M, and Wedgie Fest Weekend

This week went by so quickly that I never had time to update and post photos from last weekend. Last weekend my brother and sister-in-law came into town to visit. They claim it was to see everyone, but we all know it was mostly to see and play with NHL. He absolutely adores his Uncle I and Aunt M. This was probably the last time we will see them before the new little one arrives in May and then until their new arrival comes into the world in September. There’s a major baby boom going on in the family, can you tell?!?!

We had a great time visiting with everyone and spending the weekend with lots of the family. Saturday night we met up with my grandmother, Aunt S, and Uncle M for dinner at Nothing But Noodles. YUMMY!

On Sunday we went to my parents house to have breakfast with Nana, Papa, Uncle I, and Aunt M. After that Uncle I and NHL played with the trains together and Papa taught NHL the fine art of wedgie making. It’s sad to say the little weirdo actually liked it and to this day will request a wedgie. I don’t think he’s been getting them quite right.

Here are a few photos from the weekend.

That’s all for now. I will update later with things from this weekend including a visit from JL’s parents.

It’s 3:45 am . . . and I’m awake!

We had a really great time visiting my aunt’s house today. My uncle from PA was in town so we went there to visit with everyone since my grandfather came from the nursing home. NHL had a blast being the only kid there. My aunt and JL actually went out in the snow to play with NHL. It was priceless seeing my aunt romping around and doing snow angels.

Now I’m paying the price of not breathing well due to the three cats at my aunt’s house. Thanks to being pregnant, I am not taking my usual allergy medications that typically control this type of reaction. This along with the little monkey riding high and squishing my lungs is killing me. I can’t get air in or out well. I passed out earlier thanks to using my inhaler, but I think it may be time to use it again. So here I am up thanks to hot flashes, ankle/leg cramps from hell, hunger, and not being able to breathe.

On that note I am off to finally take my inhaler and try to get some more sleep after that.

Sesame Street Live – Elmo’s Coloring Book

Today was an action packed day. NHL has been looking forward to seeing Sesame Street Live all week and today we finally went. At 9:30 we arrived and got an amazing parking spot and went into the theater where the boys (we went with friends) were able to get some energy out before the show. We bought programs and CD’s of the really cool music from Elmo’s Coloring Book. Our seats were really great and the kids (and adults) enjoyed the show. I was the official photographer from our family and just kept trying to get different shots during the performance – you have to love digital cameras! There are 93 photos in all, but not everything came out so great. Hey, I had to give JL a run for his money in taking photos at a show after The Wiggles. One disappointment during the show was a favorite Sesame monster was not there. We figure he may have been under the weather since he’s shown in all of the programs. Who am I talking about. None other than Lovable Furry Old . . . Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Oh well, what can you do? The kids (young and old) were all quite happy after the show. Mind you NHL did mention to Nana and Papa tonight that Grover wasn’t there. After the show we went to lunch and had a nice time just talking. Then everyone came back to our house to let the boys play. They had a blast running around. We couldn’t understand where their energy came from considering there were no naps. Below are a few cool photos from the event. Enjoy! C’est Moi
