Disney in the Details

Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort adds to the magic of going to Orlando. Not only are you immersed in beautiful Disney items in their parks, but also where you will be sleeping and dreaming of your next adventure. Over the years, I have stayed at many different resorts on Disney grounds. During our last visit, TechyDad and I were able to stay in two sections of the Art of Animation Resort. Whether inside or outside, the details were stunning from the giant characters surrounding the buildings, the plants that made you feel under the sea, to the amazing rooms that made us feel like we were a part of The Lion King and The Little Mermaid while in our rooms.

Social Media Memories at Disney

Our last handful of trips to Walt Disney World have had a major social media presence to them. During our May 2009 trip, I was very limited in sharing items with everyone back home. I was able to send some Facebook photos, but few and far between. By the time we went back to the first Disney Social Media Moms in February 2010, tweeting photos was part of my repertoire. Things continued to magically change as I entered the world of smartphones and more apps allowed me to share memories in real time. During my last visit with TechyDad for the opening of New Fantasyland, we were sharing on Instagram immediately. I adore this way because I can tweet them, share on Facebook, and also connect with a large Disney community right on Instagram. Here are a few of my December 2012 Instagram Disney memories.

Disney Storytelling at Enchanted Tales with Belle

There is always a story being told when you walk around a Disney Park. Of course, when the New Fantasyland opened in December they really took it to a new level. As you walk through the entranceway from behind Cinderella’s Castle, you can head up a winding path to Maurice’s Cottage. Once you enter the queue for Enchanted Tales with Belle, you can see the real magic begin. The story details are clear with items like a painting of Belle and her mother, the magical way we are transported to meet Madame Wardrobe, and eventually telling the tale as old as time with Belle. Photos of this gorgeous part of the new area seemed perfect to depict Disney Storytelling. Needless to say, this is a must do when you go to the Magic Kingdom with or without children.

Disney Style in July

July is a funny month. We begin with festive fireworks and thinking about how our country gained independence. Then, the rest of the month is filled with ways to keep cool in the heat and humidity. With these items in mind, The Hall of Presidents and going under the sea with Ariel seem perfect for the July calendar shots.

Disney Letter L

Looking at Disney in terms of letters is a lot of fun. This week, I was a bit distracted with my son getting braces on to work on my post early. So at dinner last night, we brainstormed on Disney Letter “L” items. The kids came up with some perfect items, and of course some silly ones. Then, it was up to me to track down photos from Walt Disney World vacations to fit the bill. Below are the ones that I selected for this week.
