Thanks to Twitter, I "met" a wonderful woman who shares my love for all things Disney. Amanda Tinney is also the author of the website Disney Every Day.
On this website, Amanda shares photos, videos, other Disney fans/artist and more with her readers. She is also goes into the past and posts stories about how things have changed at Walt Disney World. Each day, I am amazed when I go to Disney Every Day and see what new item Amanda has shared. Her creativity is fabulous.
This creativity really came out with her latest project of sorts. Yesterday, Amanda posted the following in her article titled Disney’s "A Whole New World" Sung in Picture:
Is it possible to sing “A Whole New World” using only pictures with the words? Let’s try! Email amanda@disneyeveryday.com if you’d like to participate and I will give you a line.
At the time, there was only Amanda’s original example shown. I immediately e-mailed TechyDad to see if he wanted to play along. He agreed that it seemed like a lot of fun. I contacted Amanda and we were given two lines to work on. We will have them done later today.
Check out the fun that is already there. Dozens of Disney fans have united to help out the cause. Please go over to check things out. Even if you do not play along, enjoy the fun project and please, please, please wish Amanda a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Today is her extra special day and I hope she had the chance to go to visit Mickey and all of the other Disney friends today.
Happy Birthday Amanda – sending lots of Pixie Dust your way!
It’s confession time here. I do not get my hair cut very often. Part of the reason is I have done hair donations several times over the years. Other reasons are that I am too cheap and never seem to have time to get it done. When I do decide to do something to my hair, it happens quickly and I just do it.
Before we went to Disney World in May, I went for a major chopping. I had 7+ inches cut off and felt fabulous. My hair was light, curly, and easy to care for. My only request when it was cut was to make sure I could still pull it back into a pony tail. This was crucial with the hot and humid temperatures in Orlando and summer coming here. The stylist was able to do just this.
Here is a photo of TechyDad and me in May. Please note when this photo was taken, it was already 90 degrees and humid that morning as we made our way into the Animal Kingdom.
I am getting antsy with my hair again. This weekend we are taking the boys to get their hair cut (I think) and I may just get mine done at the same time. Here is a photo that was just taken.
Oy! It was a no makeup kind of day here and out of control frizz issues with the hair, not a great combo. As you can see, my hair has gotten a lot longer over the last six months and could really use another trip to Disney World some freshening up.
So my question to you this week:
How often do you have your hair cut and do you usually go in with a plan?
BTW – Be sure to check out three giveaways that are going on right now: Softlips Winter collection, Movie Moments Prize Pack (4 movie tickets and cereal), and Sweet Ones Prize Pack.

It is hard for me to believe that it has been almost four months since our family vacation to Disney World in May. To say that I would jump at a chance to go back is an understatement. Sad to also admit that I never finished blogging about our Disney vacation. Something today made me think of the trip.
Both of our boys love to build. We have lots of Lego items in our house and at Nana and Papa’s. We started with quatro blocks, moved up to duplo sets and NHL received a set of regular legos for his birthday over a year ago. NHL is intrigued with building bigger and more recognizable items now. I think some of this has to do with our visit to Disney World.
When we went to Downtown Disney on JSL’s birthday we wanted to get each of the boys their own stuffed friend. A trip to Disney World, especially their first, would not be complete without this. Here are the boys with the friends that they picked.
NHL wanted Dumbo since he was enchanted by the ride at the Magic Kingdom.
Meanwhile JSL fell head over heels for Pluto, or as he calls him "Pup-pup" on this trip.
Both of the boys were happy and excited to hug their new friends on the way out of the Disney store.
After this we decided to go to the next store over which is all Lego products. It is absolutely amazing. Here are the boys outside with some of the Lego statues. JSL had to do a double take because he was not sure about the dogs. Eventually they both checked everything out.
Once we were able to pull the boys away from the Lego people and dogs, we went into the store. They both immediately ran to the first display they saw. Here it is:
We looked around at everything for a little while. Then we spotted an area outside where the boys would build with Legos and go on a nice sized playground. Looked like the perfect place for them to get some energy out before going to lunch.
While the boys played here I went to look at another store to see something. When I came back I saw that our now two year old was quite the daredevil – Oy! He kept doing this over and over again.
Soon it was time to find a place for lunch. As we wandered back toward a few places we stopped to check out more of the Lego creations. First up were the underwater creatures.
Check out this intimidating looking guy:
Next up is the dinosaur that was a big favorite of our boys.
And last, but certainly not least was the sea creature that is in the Lagoon. We have photos of this one from our honeymoon as well. Love this one as a sentimental favorite from my many trips to Disney World over the years.
It was a beautiful day for JSL’s 2nd birthday and we enjoyed strolling around Downtown Disney before swimming at Pop Century and going to the Magic Kingdom for dinner at the Crystal Palace.
So, let me ask you. . . .
IF you had unlimited Lego opportunities (no cost) and the time, what would you build with them?
I know I can not wait to see all that our boys will make as they grow older and learn to love Legos even more!
