Belated B-day present!!!

Alright, so it was not really a birthday present, but I sure think it was. Two days after my birthday I received an e-mail from Shannon at Bloggy Giveaways that I had won something. Sure enough I had won a beautiful necklace that I had left a comment to win.

Here are the details. The necklace I won was a Natural Mineral Lampwork with Gemstones made by the very talented Jennifer Casady (here it is on Jennifer’s website). This gorgeous birthday present retails for $108!!

Jennifer was a pleasure to communicate with. She promptly e-mailed me to set up delivery. And today it arrived. Now for some photos of how it was packaged on delivery:

And now the beautiful necklace in a macro shot taken minutes ago.

Gorgeous necklace I won

Please be sure to check out Jewelry by Jennifer Casady and see all of her wonderful creations. I know I will be making a wish list of things from her store for the future.

Thank you again to Shannon and Jennifer for this great prize!

Fun mail day!

Yesterday evening before heading to volunteer at the Scholastic Warehouse sale we received our mail. Thank goodness we FINALLY got the Entertainment Books that I ordered the Monday after Thanksgiving. I really was getting worried.

At around the same time I found a fun new blog called Table for Five. While looking around I noticed they had a giveaway for the new Land Before Time – The Wisdom of Friends DVD. I entered and on December 5 Elizabeth left me a comment telling me I won. The DVD arrived yesterday and NHL can not wait to watch it later today. Thank you so much to Elizabeth for the fun blog and wonderful giveaway :)

Silly Face photos

As you have probably noticed I am not usually in the photos that I post here. A lot of the times it is because I am behind the camera, others because I threaten JL’s life!

Stupid I know, but is the way it has been.

That was before Heather (aka – OMSH) posted her contest and made me think (hey people jewelry talks).

So today I did a quick photo shoot with NHL (4 year old). I told him we were going to make silly faces. We did this while JSL (6 1/2 month old) sat and looked at us crossed eyed in the ExerSaucer. I can only imagine what he thought of the two of us. Since my time was limited I did not have JL’s tripod set up. I was limited. NHL really thought I was trying to trick him. Here’s the best of the bunch. Can you tell I was not too creative since it was planned and the boys were making me laugh with their reactions to me.

Here’s the first one. ACK – hello chins! Thank goodness I did not have a cold and any hangers thanks to the nostril shot.

The next one was better, but the little munckin was demanding attention. NHL was laughing hysterically at crazy Mommy!

Now here is one from when our wedding (not TOO long ago). At Jewish weddings it is traditional to hoist the bride and groom up onto chairs during the Hora. Well, first they decided to do JL. They put him into a chair without arms to hold onto for dear life and then they nearly dropped him. I saw all of this go down and did not want to miss my honeymoon at Disney World. So I insisted on a non-plastic chair with oh sh arms on it to hold onto. Here is the result that our photographer captured:

Seriously I feared for my life. There were just not enough people hoisting me up for my comfort.

So those are my funny faces past and present.

Bittersweet Soap Co. – “Pretty in Pink” winner is ME!

The other day I received an e-mail from Jill at Bittersweet Soap Co. that I had won her October "Pretty in Pink" giveaway. I was so excited since her things are gorgeous. Today my package arrived and it is even more wonderful in person. Photos do not do it justice.

The following is what I found when I opened the box. I had to laugh since it was the graphic that was on Jill’s post about me winning.

Next was a cute little pouch with a brochure from Bittersweet as well as a business card:
