My question this week is inspired by summer time fun at amusement parks.

What is your favorite amusement park ride and why?

I have always loved the Scrambler ride. It is a fast moving ride that really get the wind in your hair. Of course there are so many others that I enjoy as well. We are hoping to schedule a time to take NHL to an amusement park not too far from here this summer. The park has a Wiggles World and we know that he will have a blast with that.

My question this week is inspired by memories of years past.

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

People would probably be  surprised to know that I was a HUGE hockey fan. In college I started to follow our local team thanks to my Uncle M. For several years I had season tickets for the team. If I do say so myself, I had an amazing seat. My ticket was three rows behind the home bench and center ice. Let me tell you I learned some interesting sayings from the hockey players! It was also through hockey that I went on fabulous road trips. We used to go all over to see games and even went to training camp for the NHL team several times. Would you believe that I even bid and won a game worn jersey of my favorite player? I sure did and it will make a fun Halloween costume in the future. Those were fun days.

It is thanks to my love for hockey that people often do not believe me that my oldest son’s initials were not purposely given. It was only after we named him that we realized that people would later tease me. Oh well, jokes on them we can get fun licensed merchandise for the big guy with his initials on it!

Here is my NHL back in 2004 wearing some of his hockey clothing.

My question this week is inspired by my desire to travel to my favorite place.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? If you are not married yet, where is your dream honeymoon destination?

JL and I went to Disney World on our honeymoon. We spent ten amazing days there. Prior to going we had made booked special tours/programs and made dinner reservations at restaurants that we wanted to go to. The trip was amazing and like no other visit to Disney. It was the first without my family and likely our only trip without kids for years to come. It has been seven years since our honeymoon and I am itching to head back to Disney World soon. Eeyore needs a visit from me.

My question this week is inspired by our visit to the zoo last Friday.

What is your favorite animal and why?

Gorgeous Giraffes

Our family is quite partial to the giraffe. I am quite fascinated with the giraffe’s long body and neck. It is amazing to watch these animals move with such ease given their size. Another favorite for me is the cockatoo. Growing up we had pet birds and eventually decided to get a parrot and then a second. We had a sweet cockatoo named Moose who passed away almost 4 years ago and saved NHL’s life.

More photos from our zoo visit and others from last weekend coming soon. The week has been crazy and I have not had time to get them ready to blog.

My question this week is inspired by the 4th of July. . . .

What is the best fireworks display that you have ever seen in person (not on television)?

By far the best fireworks I have ever seen were at Disney World. I would have a hard time saying which park since each was unique for different reasons. I loved the ones with Tinker Bell flying through the air at the Magic Kingdom and I also loved the laser show at EPCOT that included plenty of fireworks. I also recall on one vacation watching the fireworks that were set off from the Disney Studios at our hotel.

One day I would love to go to NYC to watch their amazing fireworks spectacular in person, but personally am not willing to fight large crowds and will continue to enjoy them on the television while in my air conditioned home!

Please help me to celebrate Aloha Friday by answering my question in the comments. Also feel free to leave a link if you participate within the comment section

Happy 4th of July
