My question for this week:

Where is your dream vacation destination and why do you want to go there?

I love Disney World, but as much as I enjoy going there it is not my "dream" destination. One day I would love to go to Australia. For as long as I can remember I have been mesmerized by photos of  Sydney, parts of the Outback, and The Australia Zoo. I credit a lot of my fascination of Australia to my late cockatoo Moose and of course the late Steve Irwin (the Crocodile Hunter). Watching episode of The Crocodile Hunter on Animal Planet I saw the wildlife, scenery and wonder of Australia and secretly hoped to get there one day. Of course one of the major factors stopping me (aside from money) is the flight that would take nearly an entire day to get there. For now this girl will dream of one day stepping foot into Australia to see cockatoos flying wild and visit the wonderful home land of Steve Irwin.

My question for this week is inspired by my participation in the 15 Days of Marketing by Jessica Knows:

Do you Tweet? Translation: Are you using Twitter? If you do use Twitter, what is your favorite part of the experience? What is the part you are least fond of? If you are not on Twitter. . . what are you waiting for?!?!

Hello my name is @TheAngelForever on Twitter and I love to Tweet!

I Tweet do you?

For those of you that are not familiar with Twitter it is a social networking experience like no other you have seen before. Unlike other services, Twitter limits you to posts/messages that are 140 characters in length. Talk about a challenge! Twitter makes people learn to condense their thoughts and be extra creative. More and more corporations and small businesses are also showing up on Twitter. They have found that it is a fabulous way to connect with consumers. These days you just never know who you will "bump" into on Twitter. Who knows . . . maybe even you!

My question for this week:

Who is your favorite Disney character and why?

Here are two photos of a collection that will help to answer my question. These items are on the shelf in my old room at my parent’s house.

Positively Pessimistic. . . 1

Could you tell that I like Eeyore?

For some reason I have always loved him. It may be because my mother’s grandmother made me a hand made Eeyore doll before I was born and I am named for her (she passed away just before I was born). Or, perhaps it may be because I can identify with Eeyore’s positively pessimistic view on life. No matter which it is, I just think he is adorable and have always had one Eeyore collection or another. I even have stuffed Eeyore’s for different holidays/season that were in my classroom when I taught. Kids that were having bad days were allowed to have them to hug. Boy do I miss our local Disney Store.

My question for this week is inspired by something new we bought for baking:

Do you have a new "toy" that you like to use to cook or bake with? What is it that you like about this item?

May I present you with our new favorite baking item:

These are the BEST!

Since the boys are really into muffins we thought it was finally time to try the silicone baking cups. I was hesitant for the longest time, but thanks to a 50% off coupon at Michaels I figured it was well worth the experiment.

We opted to fill the cups, use cooking spray to help things slide after baking, and put them into a traditional muffin tray to steady them. I was too afraid to put them on a cookie sheet in case they were bumped. I could just see muffin batter all over the kitchen floor.

Ready for the oven

Check out how easy it was to get them out of the muffin cup:

Coming out of their shells

And when they were all finished there was not a lot of mess to clean up. The little cups are dishwasher safe or I just cleaned them in soapy water and they were all set.

All done

We have used the silicone muffin cups at least 3-4 times now and love them. The 24 that we now have were well worth the money and we will only use the paper liners for special occasions when we want to decorate.

Loving the library (Aloha 18)

My question for this week is inspired by my need to return items to the library:

Do you frequent the library or do you prefer to buy your own books?

I have to admit that I own a lot of books. However, over the last two years I have been going to the library 1-2 times a week. I guess as a tax payer I realize that a lot of my money is going to our local library. Why should I pay an arm and a leg for a book I will likely only read one time? Heck, then there is the guilt if you spend a lot of money on a book you do not like.

As a child I used to go to the library often. My friend J and I would go and spend forever searching for just the right books to keep us reading over the summer. Now I have passed this love for the library onto both of my boys. NHL and JSL both enjoy going to the library. They both have a blast picking out their own books, and even DVDs on special occasions.

So does this mean that I never buy books? Not on your life! Our home library is still growing, just mostly with kids books. I owned a TON of childrens books before having kids thanks to  stocking up while student teaching. Let’s just say I love Scholastic Book orders!  I have bought a lot of picture and chapter books though the years. I still buy books for my boys and always will because I believe that our childrens home library must always grow.
