My question this week is inspired by the reality that summer is ending too soon. I am in great denial that snow and ice will follow as well.

Summer is unofficially ending for many of us with the back to school season. What are some things that you hope to do before summer is truly over?

We hope to be able to take NHL to an amusement park not far from here. As part of his birthday present from us we plan on taking him there for a special day with Mommy and Daddy. My parents have said they will watch the little guy since 15 month olds do not do well in extreme heat at parks like this. In addition to this we want to take the boys swimming some more since they both really enjoy it. Luckily we will be able to go to the beach next weekend for sand play, swimming and boating to celebrate my father’s big birthday. I also plan on taking NHL to visit the playground at his new school so he can get acquainted with things before starting kindergarten. Mommy is not ready for this at all!

  • We have a trip planned before Labor Day, work and pleasure. But it will be good to get out of town for a few days!

Try and put in a patio in my back yard! It is a huge project and I have been putting it off all summer long! Stop by my Aloha Friday for a loaded question!

  • I know exactly how you feel! My son starts kindergarten on August 18th!! I’m not ready either! I just plan on spending lots of time with hime before he goes. No concrete plans, just lots of mommy time! :)

  • Sharon says:

I’d love it if we could make it about 2 hours from us, to visit my brother and sil and go on their boat.

  • Jenni says:

I have a lot I have to go before it is back to school time…but I am hoping to have a few more fun summer days with my boys first!

  • Anne says:

nothing really its either too hot to do anything or we don’t have enough money that given week to do it

  • Cathi says:

I don’t have any specific things to do before summer is over. It’s odd with new school years starting in July and August. When my kids were little, school started in September which gave us a nice long summer to play about in.

I’ve sent an email but I haven’t heard back from you.

i would love to get to cedar point with my husband before summer is over

  • Shelley says:

This is hard because summer doesn’t typically end here in FL…and the best weather to be outside and do things is in the fall. For sake of this comment, I’m going to say go to Bok Gardens. One of my new friends introduced me to this place recently and it’s beautiful…and always changing based on what’s in bloom that season. I can’t wait to go!

  • Mad Squirrel says:

I am not sure we always just let the summer flow at our house and we try not to schedule too much. We just do what we want and make sure the kids are kids.

  • Jen E says:

One more trip to the beach! We only made it out to a beach once this year and I didn’t even get to swim!

  • Kathy says:

I want to go visit the Cool Globes on display at Crissy Field. Although they’ll be there thru October, I want to go before summer is over.

  • My son has been begging to go to teh Monterey Aquarium… we have been trying and trying…but just has not worked out. Good thing about California, we have summer weather for a bit longer….so I may still be able to squeeze a vacation weekend in yet!

  • Truly Tracey says:

Since we already did so much thus far there isn’t much more that I’d like to do before summer is officially over. I’m just looking forward to the boys going back to school in a few weeks.

  • Richelle F says:

Mine isn’t in school yet, but we definitely have to spend more time outside (with sprinklers, swimming pool, sidewalk chalk–all that good stuff) before the summer is over.

  • Jenn says:

I want to finish gestating ;-)

  • i’m hoping to go to the pool a few more times and just enjoy the last bit of warm weather. i’m like you… i’m not ready for the snow.
