I would not and could not make this up. That was a picture that TechyDad took when he was taking NHL to school this morning. According to the weather people, not only is it –13 outside, but it is quite windy. Once we factor in the wind chill it actually feels like it is –24.
So how do you send your child to school in this type of weather? The answer is layers. Lots and lots of layers!
NHL is wearing sweats, topped with a zip up hoody, boots, hat, two pairs of gloves, his coat, two hoods, and a scarf to protect his face. My guess is he will still feel the sting and not be warm enough. Luckily he does not have to walk far to the car and into school.
Now I am off to curl up under a blanket. For the second night in a row JSL had nightmares and was in our bed. I did not sleep since he kept kicking me.

I wonder sometimes how little ones can sleep when they move around and kick so much!! The grands start off in our bed but now…after they fall asleep…we move them into their own bed. hehe

I can’t believe he had school!!!! I was “only” -7 here and a lot of the schools were canceled or delayed. Not Starpoint or Williamsville, but Lockport and Ken-Ton by my parents were.
Wow, amazing that he has to brave such freezing cold to go to school! The picture of him hugging his little brother is adorable. I especially love the look on JSL’s face saying bye to NHL.
The brotherly hug might not warm the toes, but it sure is heartwarming!

Oh I agree. It’s been like that here too. We have to walk to school though. Luckily only 4 blocks but still. When it’s this cold it feels like more. Unfortunately you can’t completely cover the face so you put the hat down onto eyebrows and scarf up to bottom of eyes but there’s still a bit of skin that feels the sting. Then the noses won’t stop running and they are so bundled up they can’t get out a kleenex. Sheesh.
