Over the last few weeks, I have grown up a lot. I have been my son’s biggest advocate at school, played a role in a community rally to save our school and bitten my tongue on more than one occasion. In fact, I am doing that right this minute. I had the perfect Aloha Friday question today, but am opting not to do it. The main reason is it is not worth the fall out. It will be too obvious to those that read it what I am referring to, and quite honestly I am once again going to be the adult here.
So my question for you this week:
Do you ever find yourself self censoring -er monitoring things you say/do, especially online because of who may see it and take it the wrong (or right) way? What do you do in these situations?
Please be sure to check out my Human Nature – Reach Out CD and Dove Men+Care giveaways. Stay tuned because more will be coming very soon.

Aloha #93
No. I really do not write too much about myself online and what I do share is nothing I would mind anyone seeing.

Actually online is where I am most open about my opinions and I feel free in a way. I do censor myself, though, around certain people like my mom-in-law and some other relatives, my kids, or the people my husband works with at the courthouse. I know that some people are just more sensitive than others and try to take that into account, too. One of my sis-in-laws is very quiet and sensitive and you know if you’ve upset her because she just won’t talk to you the entire day you are around her so, I actually try to keep her engaged in the conversation and make her feel welcomed, but I also monitor what I say. Good question!

Yes I do and I avoid the those topics. I didn’t realize that my family reads it, my husband’s coworkers read it and that’s enough for me to just keep it light.

This is why I try to get away from family and friends so that I can have my space to just be open to let my thoughts out.
But yes I do find myself censoring because of not wanting to hurt others

Actually no. I’m pretty open about my feelings and my beliefs online, even about politics. The only thing I don’t do is talk about people online. I hate the bashing stuff.

I do sometimes but I do try to say whats on my mind.

Because I do have an online biz, I do watch what I post. Sometimes its just best to not comment.

I do tend to censor myself, both online and in real life. I really hate conflict and always try to avoid it. But, at times, I wish I could be more confident and outspoken (especially in real life).

Um…yes! YES! all the time. I just had a anonymous conversation. I have an opinion and I AM afraid to use it. :)

I don#’t tend to write about my feelings online, buit i will blog anything that has particularly annoyed me. I think I tend to avoid anything that can stir up family politics to save the fall out.

Yes. All the time. Like they say, don’t talk politics or religion, etc. I don’t get involved with that, espec. on my blog.
Hope you have a great Friday♥

Yes. I respect everyone’s right to have an opinion, but not everyone feels the same way. Also, I have some very controversial opinions on things and don’t want to be judged by them. It’s no one’s place nor their business. But I respect anyone who is open to any degree online and off. I’m just not that comfortable, not yet anyway. :)

It’s all part of growing older- learning how to pick and choose your battles. I once came out against a certain big fat lobby and a prominent blogger for that big fat lobby picked up my post. Needless to say, I had a lot of traffic of all kinds.
Have a great weekend!

I do try to censor myself. Sometimes I put my foot in my mouth and say something I shouldn’t around people and then regret it later. It’s a process I think.

I am pretty open online or in my actual life (one of my new resolutions), but I do find censoring myself sometimes mostly to protect some people in my life.

I am probably the most open and honest online. I can get away with it because most of the people in my world who will take things the wrong or right way either do not read or will not say anything if they do. That said there have been a lot of things that have been running through my head lately that I will not blog about. They are more personal. With much more fallout if they go the wrong way. It is a difficult place because I have no real outlet for them. I do not feel can be openly honest with most of the people I know about these things. And I would love to get some opinions on them but I will not. I will not put them out there as I do not want the wrong people to see and read and judge.
That said feel free to shoot me an email if getting it off your chest will help. :)

I try to be careful about what I say and how I say it. The thing with the written word is that it can sometimes be misinterpreted since you can’t hear the tone of the author’s voice. Plus, I’m not very good with confrontations.

YEP! ALL the time! I HATE drama and avoid it at all cost so I bite my tongue and stay in my little corner of the blogoverse and try not to ruffle any feathers.
Yes, there are things I won’t blog about and things that I wish I could write about but feel I can’t without offending people in my life or making things difficult for my family. Sometimes I wish I could go to a forum and post privately as someone else to get feedback from others about certain situations.

As far as for that I really maybe watch my language in front of the kids do to they’re in the repeating stage right now. Censoring myself on line yes just a bit, only because my daughter is also a blogger, and I would never blog about anything that might embarrass her.

Yes I do. And, I don’t hit send.

I don’t write to much personal stuff so I haven’t ever thought of that before. I would censor myself if I thought I needed to!
Have a great weekend!
