Today is October first and begins National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Last year, I wrote about two people in my life that are survivors of this nasty disease. Unfortunately, not everyone diagnosed with Breast Cancer is that lucky. Many brave women lose their battle with this beast.
Below, in the middle, is my friend Debra. She is a fellow Disney fanatic that I spent time with at BlogHer in August.
Debra (A Frugal Friend) lost her mother to breast cancer almost five years ago. In her memory, Debra is hosting her 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Event . To find out more about the event please click on the button below.
I hope you will join me in supporting Debra’s event in honor of those that have had their lives forever changed by Breast Cancer.
Please remember to check your breasts every month, or remind the women in your life to do so. Don’t put off having your yearly mammogram and be sure to have a baseline done when your doctor recommends it if you have never had one before. Early detection is key!

Thanks so much Beth! I’ll shout out in memory of my mom, but also in honor of both of my grandmothers, who have fought this disease and are still here with us.
It’s been a hard few years for all of us…but so thankful for friends like you!

I do not know anyone really close to me that has suffered from breast cancer, but that doesn’t make it any less real to me! I know how fast a person can get sick and it truly is scary.
I’d like to give a shout out to all the wonderful people who have, or have been affected by breast cancer! You all are immensely strong individuals!

My sister in law/best friend has battled cancer and for everything she has been through and going through, she is fighting triple.
There is a bit of concern again for her and she is going in for gallbladder surgery because they don’t want to take any chances, so I’m keeping her in prayers.

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting. My best friend’s sister in law is a breast cancer survivor. The same time that my best friend’s mother passed away, her sil discovered the cancer. It was a very sad Christmas that year. Today, her SIL is cancer free and just had reconstructive surgery.
