Growing up I can recall going to Chuck E Cheese. We did not go there a lot, but when we did it was a fabulous treat. I loved playing all of the different video games, going on rides, watching shows and earning prizes. Of course, my little brother did not like it at first. He was quite afraid of Chuck E Cheese and would hide under the table.
NHL does not like Chuck E Cheese. We think it has something to do with the costumed rodent. He does not like costumes, which will make Disney World interesting in a few weeks. Thanks to NHL we have not been to Chuck E Cheese in a while. Last Thursday my mother had the day off from work and I mentioned that I had a lot of tokens left from our last visit. She and I went to Chuck E Cheese with JSL.
This was really the first time he had been there since he would romp around and try things. At 23 months old he was a little overwhelmed with all of the items, but thanks to no crowds quickly got used to everything. Eventually he tried a few rides, loves the car driving game and played many games of Skee Ball with me. Here are some photos from our trip.
So my question to you this week, assuming you have been to Chuck E Cheese in the past and recently:
What do you think of the new look at Chuck E Cheese? Do you prefer the old style or the new? If you have never been, what is your favorite arcade game?

Aloha #43
As a parent, I’ve never been a fan of Chuck E Cheese. My kids love it, although our youngest hates the big rodent too.

I haven’t been to CEC in SO long. I took my now 7 year old when she was three and she picked up some kind of viral skin rash. Her Dr told me horror stories of some of the nasty things his patients have picked up while there (because I needed help being a germophobe, lol) so we try to avoid going to those types of places.

We go every once in a while..but my husband is not thrilled with the food choice lol My son goes crazy over all the games.. But we cannot stand it if its crowded!! I love the game that you put the token in and try to knock the other tokens off..I forget what it is called :) lol My husband of course goes straight for the motorcycle game..the one that looks like you are actually riding one.. he is such a kid lol
I don’t know the difference.
But I love! skeet ball!!

We don’t have a Chuck E Cheese anywhere close to us. For that I’m almost grateful since I can’t stand the pizza. I did enjoy playing the skeeball though. Love that game.

The only experience I’ve had with CEC was a bad one. Where we live the one is gross, dirty, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there weren’t needles hidden in the ball pits. Needless to say we exited rather fast!

We never went to CEC as kids, I think I was too old for it when there was one built near my house. My kids like it but we don’t go often. Alex is also scared of Chuck E, or at least was last time we were there, so we just stay far away from him. I think the last time we were there was Alex’s birthday last summer.
I love skee ball though. :)

When my sons were young they loved Chuck E Cheese but I remember it being a little expensive for me when I took all 3 of them.
I LOVE Ms. Pacman and Asteroids! Yep, I’m a child of the 80’s! Haven’t been to Chuck e. Cheese in a long time!

When I was a kid I loved the ball roll (skee ball, is it?). I still do I think, we went not too long ago. It was fun watching my daughter play. It’s amazing how many parents go nuts earning “tickets” for their kids though – can get quite cutthroat at Chuck E. Cheese!

We never really went when I was a kid.. maybe for a birthday party once or twice.. I always wanted to go.. I’ve taken my kids a few times.. As long as we go at an off time it is fine but I would never go when it is packed.. My kids do not like the rodent and neither do I.

I don’t think I have ever been to a chucky cheese…I would say probably Dave and Busters…only because that’s the only one I can recall really going to.

We took the kids when they were little (over 20yrs ago) and once was enough. Too loud, lousy food and overpriced.

I have never been to a CEC, but with my son getting older, I am sure the visit is inevitable.
The only thing that sticks in my mind about CEC is a report I read a few weeks about all of the germs and bacteria that were found one of those tables!

This is so funny to me because we went to CEC on Thursday with friends. We went because 1) We needed something to do and 2) we had a coupon. The kids were too young for most of the games, but they didn’t know that and didn’t care. They had a great time. Mr. Cheese was an animatronic kind of guy who stayed on a stage at a distance, so my costumed-character-spurning boy didn’t mind. :)

Here I am feeling really old again after answering so many Aloha Friday questions geared towards the younger Diva mamas. . . LOL ~ Oh well. . .I still have fun reading all the comments and giving my responses from the old days! When we lived in California (San Diego and Monterey) our kids were at that age where they LOVED CEC!! We had and attended many parties there – I always love the plastic ball bin!

So sorry, I’m currently not a “Chuck E Cheeser.” My kids are past that, but I’d better stay in touch for possible future grandkids!!! Thanks for sharing!
Our Chucky Cheese use to be Showbiz Pizza and it really isn’t much different than what it was when I was a kid. It is not a place I like going because it is always packed.
