Nalgene my H2O queen

Most people would probably find it strange that my beverage of choice is water. Sure, I like an occasional Crystal Light Peach Ice Tea, but I am not a soda person. In fact, about ten years ago I gave up drinking items that contain caffeine. I did it cold turkey, but it was the best thing I ever did.

In recent weeks, I have not been as good about drinking water. Sure, I may have had one of my smaller containers during the day, but not much more. When I joined Weight Watchers online, I was reminded about the 64 ounces of water that you should consume in a day. My reusable water container only held about 20 ounces.

While out on Saturday I went to the store with my brother and sister-in-law and bought myself this:

My pretty blue Nalgene bottle

Pretty isn’t she? This is my new 32 ounce Nalgene water bottle. Nalgene is made in the USA and is PBA free (says it right on the bottom now). I had a hard time finding Nalgene products, but thanks to JL’s coworker I knew the store that carried them locally. I love that I can fill it up to 32 ounces and chug away the water my body needs and fill it one more time during the day to get my daily water intake.

32 ounces of water goodness

Of course I learned a hard lesson. Do not drink 32 ounces of water right before heading out into the freezing cold temperatures. What can I say, my teacher bladder is not up to that after having two children.

So my question to you:

How much water do you drink? Do you make a conscious effort to concume 64 ounces each day?

  • This is a challenge for me as well, however I do make an effort to drink at 6 20oz glasses a day. On the days when it is extra challenging, I actually take out six cups and fill them with water and just “drink my way through” so that I can vizually see how I am doing. :D

Your bottle is really pretty, I need to get one for myself for when I am away from the house.

*Last week, you mentioned an interest in non.toxic products, I use them (have now for 16 years) if you have any questions, I would be glad to share. :D

  • Katie says:

There is no way in 1 day I consume 64 ounces of water. And actually I have talked to the dr about it and he told me that my water in take was ok because I was getting water or liquid from other sources as well. Don’t ask, I have no idea. I probably only in take about 32 ounces of WATER in a glass per day. I am trying to get better though. I am just baby stepping it!

  • Nina says:

I love water. Besides my morning coffee it is pretty much the only thing I drink.
We have really bad well water and I use to buy lots of little bottles of water. I hated the waist I was makings so last winter I ordered a water cooler for my home and we get 3 – 5 gallon bottles delivered through Ice Mountain every 4 weeks. I am pretty much the only one who drinks the water in my house and I do drink a lot of it.
Here in the last few weeks I haven’t drank as much and it is proably why I have been sick so much.

  • Lori Downs says:

Whats water?? just kidding no I dont make an effort to drink 64 oz of water i drink gatorade and soda too much

  • I drink at least that, usually closer to 90, but have for many years due to a health condition.

  • Ah pregnant women are supposed to drink a ton of water, which doesn’t help the bladder thing one bit. I’m totally with ya on that one. I’m not sure I drink 64 oz but do tend to make it up somewhere around 30 and try to balance it out with a lot of fruit. :)

  • Casey H says:

The other day I decided I was going to make an effort to drink more water cause I was starting to get crazy leg cramps. I drank two glasses and then yesterday I had one. I by far, dont drink anywhere near enough water. I drink coffee like its my JOB.

  • Shawna says:

I easily drink a gallon of water a day. Sometimes more. And I love it–I never get tired of water!

  • I drink water all day long. I do not have to make a conscious effort to drink 64 ounces I just do.

  • sagemom says:

I drink a lot of water (I only drink water). I just try to drink often and not worry about the amount… =)

  • Probably less than 64 oz…but hmmmm more than 20 oz.

  • Elizabeth says:

You hit a big weak spot for me. I pretty much only drink pop. I’m nowhere near 64 oz of water.

  • Jennifer says:

    No, not with kids :(

  • Nancy says:

I drink water all day but nowhere near 64 oz. Also you may not be aware that WW changed their recommendation to 8 glasses of liquids – it doesn’t have to be water. Even coffee is included. Though my leader does recommend that at least 3 of the 8 glasses be water. There have been recent studies that say 64 oz is an arbitrary number, and you should drink when you’re thirsty and you’ll get water in other ways, like through food. That made me feel a lot better about the fact that I can’t get 64 oz in most days, even if I try.

On that note, I could use a drink of water right now…

  • I do try to drink enough water. I really only drink water or coffee!

  • sheila says:

I drink watered down lemonaid or just water. Probably about 6-8 cups/day.

Come visit me today, I’ve got a 9 second video of a science experiment we did with boiling water and the cold air outside.

  • Usually one liter per day.

  • Janet F says:

I don’t like to drink plain water.

    I drink tea and soda.

  • pam says:

Not nearly enough, I need to get better. Does coffee and soft drinks count??

  • Tara says:

I drink a lot more water than I used to.. having a water cooler really helps with that. I drink between 64 and 100 ounces a day.

  • Uncle Mikey says:

I’ve had days where I’ve had my morning cup of coffee and am ready to go to bed and realized that I haven’t drank ANYTHING since then!!!
