My question this week. . . .

What was your favorite cartoon as a child? What cartoon do you like to watch now? This does not have to be one that your children force you to watch – really!

The inspiration for this came from being SO sick of the 24 hour Noggin. Ugh, I wish they never did that, or at least never advertised so that kids knew it was there 24/7.

When I was little really liked to watch The Flintstones and Jetsons. Later on there was Rainbow Brite and Carebears . . . along with He-Man and She-Ra. We often watch things on Noggin and Disney here, so to keep with my not that the kids watch, I enjoy Family Guy. The humor in it makes you use your brain.

Please help me to celebrate  Aloha Friday by answering my question. Also feel free to leave a link if you participate within the comment section.

I loved the Flintstone’s and Jetson’s also! I also like the Laff Olympics on Saturday mornings.

We watch a lot of Disney also, Handy Manny, Little Einstein’s, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (I love the songs in this one). We also are a Spongebob house, which I do not like, but she does, so I don’t have a lot of sensor on her shows so she gets to watch it. My favorite newer cartoon is Back at the Barnyard. LOVE IT! I SO love that the cow is a Male and has utters! Someone was genius with that one LOL!!

I liked the Jetson’s and Tom and Jerrie. Cartoons were different when I was a child. They were appropriate for all ages whereas now there are many cartoons I won’t let my grandchildren watch.

popeye, I don’t watch cartoons anymore

  • When I was young I wanted to be like my older brother so I watched a ton of “boy” oriented cartoons like He-Man, Thundarr the Barbarian, and Robotech. Plus, I have to admit my continued love of cartoons is what brought my husband and I together in the first place…of course now they are cartoons shown on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim Block. We bonded over Aqua teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law and The Brak Show. I am a sucker for animation!

Garfield was always my choice for Saturday mornings. But in general, since we only got three channels, I watched any cartoon that came on!

  • I loved the Space Cadets. Does anyone remember them?

Now-a-days I love Futurama. I am watching the new DVD right now.

My granddad loved watching cartoons and so I have many fond favorites: Tom and Jerry, Garfield, Bugs Bunny, Paddington Bear (I lived in England for a while), Transformers…

I hated the Road Runner. It drove me up a wall!

Sometimes I sit and watch the old cartoons with the kids. :) There aren’t many I approve of nowadays.

  • Felix the Cat when I was a kid – I still like Scooby Doo

  • When I was young I enjoyed watching Care Bears. Now after so many years, Care Bears is still popular. There are new characters and the animation has greatly improved. I still like watching it until now.

Thank you for visiting and sharing your sweet story. I appreciate it.

  • there were two that i remember watching constantly; felix the cat and the roadrunner.

i can’t say i really enjoy watching cartoons now. i enjoyed spongebob squarepants a few years back with my neice and nephew. even my young teenage kids watched it occassionally.

My favorite cartoon used to be the Flintstones. I don’t really watch cartoons anymore but I do love the animated Nemo. I could watch it over and over again!
